Thoughts on the gulf coast

Building cities
below sea level
on the flood plain
of the continent's largest river
in the common path of hurricanes
makes catastrophe inevitable.

When the big one hits
and metropolitan California is shaken into rubble
and public blaming runs rampant
and the news covers stories
of death and stranded kitties
feel free to mention
"I told you so".
