No more credit card offers

I have good credit. I've carefully managed my finances my whole life, as a matter of prudence and one of practicality. The downside is that my mailbox is stuffed with credit card offers. If I had a wood stove, I could heat my house with the junk mail.

Today I was tricked into opening a rather clever offer. The benefit to me was that they had very clear opt-out instructions on the back. I went to this website, and in 30 seconds had opted out of offers for the next five years. Who knows if it'll diminish the volume, but we shall see. Well worth the try.

Feinstein: WTF?

Seems my senator is going to vote to approve an Attorney General who isn't sure whether nearly drowning people is torture, and hence unsure whether it's constitutional. Maybe he should ask some kindergarteners if it's torture. I bet he'd get a very clear answer.

I wrote her e-mail immediately. I'm hoping her staffers will count the proportion of Californians who think she's crazy to approve him. I have no idea what she's thinking. This is a time for checks and balances. Our unchecked executive has remained unchecked for too long. This is why folks are unhappy with congress.
