First day New Job

Very tired. It didn't drag on as long as I thought it could, but it took some time. Commute home was kind of crappy. Took 20 min just to get out of the ferry parking lot. I think I'll park at the boat house and walk to my car. It'll be faster.

Had a few moments when I thought I made the wrong move. They kept talking about projects as if they were all about software implimentation. I signed up for business problems, not software implimentation. So If I need to pull the plug in 6 months, so be it.

I won't make any judgements based on just the first day's impression.

Car Wars: The Response of the Informed

Hi Melissa-

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm interested in the Matrix, but if the best number you can give me is $100 over MSRP, it's not going to be worth my while to make the drive from Marin up to Santa Rosa.

(link to Intellichoice price report)

Thanks for getting back to me.

Ken

Why I hate car shopping

Honda Guy: Hello my man. Sure sure. I show you the car. Is great car. What kind of car you drive now? (What is the value of your trade in?)

Honda Guy: What kind of work you do? (How much money do you make, and how much car can you afford?)

Honda Guy: What town you live in (How much money do you make and how much car can you afford?)

Honda Guy: When you are ready to buy, come back and we'll make you a great deal.

Ford Guy: Do you own a house or are you renting (How much money do you make, and how much car can you afford?)

Ford Guy: My manager wants to know what kind of price it'll take to get you to buy this car today.

Me: I'm not buying anything today.

Ford Junior Manager: What price would it take to get you to buy this car today?

Me: Free.

Ford Senior Manager: What price would it take to get you to buy this car today?

Me: I just want to know what you'd charge me for it.

Ford Senior Manager: Well your monthly payment depends on all kinds of things. What kind of payment do you want?

Me: I want a price, and I want some interest rates.

Who are these people?

Who are the people that feel the need to use a public restroom and then throw 6 trees worth of TP and paper towels into the toilet, rendering it an un-usable and unsanitary mess?

Whoever the intended victim is, the person who suffers the most will be the janitorial staff forced to deal with it. I just think it's incomprehensibly cruel. I dunno why people do that.
