That the CA court upholds the universal civil right to marry.
No matter what, this'll get appealed to the Supreme Court, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm not sure how it would go down. Since "Separate but equal" doesn't work for races and education (separate is intrinsically unequal), I would expect it doesn't work for life partnership institutions. Either we all get married or we all have civil unions, but no half measures.
That said, anything that moves towards full equality is progress, even if we can't get there in one leap.
